I love to help and that's why I am so great at caregiving for others. A good caregiver comes with heart for free. I love to help families and or independent people be comfortable, safe and happy at home. Unfortunately I am not rich so I need to earn a wade but my heart is 100 percent free. I love entering a home helping and moving on to the next. I just love all of the tricks inside secrets of families, maybe its a magical recipe or neat way to clean with vinegar. Maybe even just going to play bingo somewhere and or hanging out at home. I am personally proud of all of my education and being able to share it with the people who hire me. I am a very passionate person, who enjoys caring for others. I was drawn to the medical field because of the time I spent in hospitals growing up. I admired all the people that helped me in every way possible throughout my stays. I decided I wanted to become a doctor my junior year of high school. I want to be able to give back to people the same way my doctors gave back to me.

I have held many positions in the health field. My reasons for remaining in health care are many but the most prominent is the self gratification of helping others.

My current job does not say much about who I am as a person or a caregiver. Before starting in factory work I worked in a nursing home for 4 years. After the nursing home I worked in assisted living for a year. I gave my heart to those jobs. I loved ever minute of being with the elderly. I started by waking them up and taking them to the toilet. Then I would help them get dressed or dress the ones who were unable. I would then assist with normal morning hygiene care. I would take them to dine with others in the dinning hall and then I would feed the ones who could not go. I would do daily excersizes with the residents and give baths when it came time. After breakfast some would take naps, watch tv or do other things. After my rounds of helping to use the bathroom I would visit with some that I didn't get to spend so much time with because of our morning rush to eat. So many of those people whom I took care of couldn't remember some of their own family, but they knew when they seen me coming everyday and they were so happy at times. At the end of the day helping others comes naturally. My gratitude I get from being a caregiver is just making someone smile. If I can make them smile then I must be doing something well.

I have been a CNA for 21 years and I love what I do. I am a wife to a Disable Veteran and have two grown children and one school age child. I have experience with geriatrics, pediatrics, MED/SURG, Telemetry, ICU and INU. I have work in hospitals, doctor offices, nursing homes, home health and even hospice through out my career.

I was a firefighter medic for over 18 years and Knoxville and have made a career move to healthcare due to helping and caring for others my healthcare career came from helping my grandfather due to his diabetes and mental illnesses. I enjoy helping people and the interaction tween caregiving and seeing people get well.
