Caregiving has been my calling and career for the past thirly years. I have worked in a variety of health care settings. However, homecare has been mostly my focus. I enjoy assisting clients to remain in the comfort of their homes. I am a self starter, diligent, attentive and compassionate caregivers. In addition, any family who chooses to hire me would be satisfied with my service. I sincerely enjoy caring for people.

To me giving care is a calling, also I like treating our seniors the way I would like to be treated when I become one.

I am a Certified Nurse Assistant with 8 years experience working in different healthcare facilities. My CPR and First aid cards are current and l have a valid TB test results which is negative. I love being a caregiver because l love being in a helping profession. I cared for my grandmother and it was a joy to have been able to care for her. I also have an associate degree in Business Management. So l can manage resources well. I am social, a good listener, soft spoken and patient. My hobbies are reading, swimming and watching movies.

I started of in the caregiving field with taking care of my grandfather. In the process I got to learn a lot and I did enjoy doing it. I treat every client like my own family with love and compassion. Every client had different needs, so I get to understand the client first and foremost. I mostly enjoy the learning process in caregiving, no matter how long one has been a caregiver, we get to learn new things every time. I once had a client who had dementia (late stage), who did not want to go to bed (it was late at night). One thing that the client enjoyed was watching animal documentaries . I showed the client pictures of different animals that I had taken when I went to Kenya and the client calmed down and I was able to redirect the client to bed. My patience with the client helped me assure the client that I was on her side. This scenario really made me proud of the caregiver that I'm becoming. I love what I do.

I have been a caregiver for 20 years: I joined a full-time church ministry and was ordained as clergy. I served as a hospital chaplain for five years in my clergy position. When offering spiritual and moral support to my patients, I discovered I could be involved in extended care. I provided personal hygiene and bathroom services to my patients as a chaplain. This was because I cared so much about my patient's well-being (I do). I did my CNA certification and joined the caregiver's vocation. I have diverse experiences in the medical field and facilities. I have worked in Hospitals, Nursing Facilities, Adult family homes/ group homes, home health aides, hospice aides, and medication technicians. I have a calling and am very passionate about serving patients; I feel fulfilled when I make patients feel comfortable and well-supported. I take delight in the care I offer to my client. Helping patients feel and recognize warm, tender, gentle, and good-natured caregiving. I am a hard-working caregiver, Neat and organized. I communicate where needed with the families and others concerned. I assist my clients with all their daily needs and activities. I have about 32 years of experience being a caregiver. I use to own my own Caregiver agency but, it took me away from providing personal care to my clients, I decided to give that up so I could work closer with the client. I've provided care for individuals with MS. I currently work part time for the State of Washington as a certified Care Giver & I have a couple of part time clients . I feel & have been told I'm a great caregiver because I think of others first, filling the needs of others before myself. I think the best way to be a affective caregiver is to really have consideration for the fact that, it could sometimes be Very humiliating having someone to provide care for you & to treat others as you want to be treated. I always talk to my clients and helping them to see that I do understand how it feels to be able to once have done things for yourself and now to have to rely on someone else. I also forgot to mention that I have a daughter who lives with me, she's now 30 and she's been on dialysis for about 10 years and so I have quite a bit of experience in the medical field. I was also certified as a CNA for about 20 years I am not currently certified but, have loads of experience working with the elderly, I've worked on my own, in nursing homes & hospitals. I've worked for the State of California in a Veterans home for about 10 years just prior to me coming to Seattle. I've been in Seattle for 14 years.
