I have always had a deep compassion for people and did volunteer work for San Diego Hospice before becoming a caregiver in 2009. I am one of 7 siblings and in 2009 took on the responsibility of overseeing the care of my elderly father. I became a caregiver to better understand his needs and he passed away in my home after 3 years. I have deeply connected with clients and their families over the years and have been asked to be with the client as they passed away because their family knew and appreciated how connected we had become. I have been with a meditation center for 20 years which also helped me to connect to clients.

I love my job and I have been a caregiver for over 10 years. I have experience taking care of Alzhemiers and Parkinson's patients, as well as those with dementia and the frail and elderly. I have more training than a CNA and also have certifates of training including QMAP ( Medication Management training), First Aide and CPR. I am patient, kind and treat my clients the way I would like to be treated. I became a caregiver because I am a people person and enjoy being around seniors and hearing their stories as well as helping them to have to best life possible. Each of my clients have different personalities and like to do different things. Some things I have done for and with my clients are, preparing meals, bathing, dressing, laundry, shopping and errands. I have also provided transportation to Doctors appointments and assisted them and their families with understanding the Doctors instructions. Some fun things we have done together are, watch TV, go to museums, the Zoo, movies, out to eat, go for a drive, play games, go for a walk or just sit and talk. An achievement I am very proud of is being a previous Owner /Operator of an Assisted Living Home. I have excellent referiences.
I have had my Certified Caregiving and Certified Nurse Assistant (and PCT) License for two years now. I am currently working at St.Joseph's hospital as a Patient Care Technician in the Medical/Psychiatric unit Night Shifts but began gaining experience in caregiving, assisted living, and rehabilitation centers. I have a passion to strive for the care and needs of others as if they are apart of my own family. I also strive to develop trust with not only the patient but the family to always ensure excellent care and respect.
Growing up in a culture where we care for our grandparents and parents in our household means I have the warmth and compassion that are utmost to be an excellent caregiver. I have proper training and experience undergoing numerous cases which only reinforce my caregiving knowledge and skills, dependability, honesty and professionalism.
I am currently a caregiver at an agency. I am responsible to give the individual their meds, take them to doc appt, cook, clean, help with personal hygiene, etc. Before that I've worked other places. I love going to work each and everyday knowing that I'm having a positive impact on someone else's life events if it not a life changing impact. I am a quick learner and I'm a hard worker.
I have been a Certified Nursing Assist for 19 years. I became a caregiver because I love to help others. Being able to help someone at a vulnerable time in their lives whether it is because of an illness or because they are aging and need help is a rewarding feeling. Helping to take care of others with respect, empathy and dignity is my life's work.
I have always loved caring for others, even as a child. I started working in a Adult Care home in my late 20s and found my passion! I have owned 2 assisted living homes and a Senior Daycare. I have tried other occupations and have always come back to caregiving. I also work with Alzheimers and dementia patients. I am very loving, kind, and patient. With over 20 years experience, you can rest assured that your loved one is in good hands and will receive the best of care!
I am an excellent caregiver and medical attendant because I have a natural gift for treating people, especially the elderly, with the respect and care they need and deserve. I entered the healthcare field as a second career and am sensitive to what it takes to be mature, dependable, and attentive to the responsibilities of the job. As I surveyed all the possibilities when choosing a field within the healthcare industry I tried several of them and found that caring for our aging population to be the most rewarding for my particular set of skills. I am currently working with a male patient that I am sure will give you any reference or review you may need.
