My name is Cathryn Montoya. I am 17 years old and a senior in high school. I received my CNA certification my junior year. Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to be a nurse, all I am doing is achieving my dream. My mother has serious medical problems including seizures, memory loss, and cancer. I see how much my mother struggles on a daily basis. I know I can make a difference for many other individuals in her condition, or even worse. I love the idea of helping people in need because I know I could be the reason for them to smile. I could be the one to save someone's life! I do not see anything better than giving someone hope, happiness and comfort. I have achieved my CPR, First Aid, and CNA certifications as well as, maintaining a household with a seven year old and helping my mother when needed. I can cook, clean, and provide accurate care for an individual in need because, I do it on a daily basis at home. There is only one problem I am running into. During summer hours, I can be work anytime needed but, during school I can only work anytime after 4:30 pm and weekends. I will not be able to provide during the day care because of school and can not work on major holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving. I hope that this will not be of any inconvenience. As long as there are flexible hours during school, I am very eager and willing to work.
