I became a Caregiver years ago not knowing what it would be like. I knew I had a passion for caring for people and wanted to become a nurse one day and needed to start some where. I didn't realize when I started how much I would actually love it. I like being a caregiver because I think that people need to be cared for and in a loving respectful way. I think about my family and how I would want them to be cared for. I enjoy making someone smile or have a good day because I made their day better. Being a caregiver, I have learned so much more from my residents or patients then I could ever offer them. Being a Caregiver can be so rewarding to the heart and it's a job that makes you happy at the end of the day. I am in nursing school currently and a personal achievement for me is that I haven't given up even at moments that I don't think I can do it anymore. I have learned to take one day at a time and keep putting one foot forward. I am from a small town, which isn't so small anymore, and I enjoy time with my family and friends. I love to travel and be outside.

I was born this way. I have a few relatives that have special needs as well as my in laws. I guess one could say it takes a special heart for someone to take on the many needs of others and I have been told I am that heart. I do not see my self doing anything else. I am picky with the way one should be treated and cared for. I get emotional when I see things that have happened do to the lack of simple care. You treat one as you would want to be treated. I think sometimes that maybe we (as in non disabled or with needs) are the ones that are disabled and the ones with needs are actually the ones who are not. I have learned a lot from assisting others and the main one is : I can see that all my clients former and present are happy, and love life as is, as people such as my self, stress over the littlest things. Enjoy what you have to the best of my ability and live life. So much can be learned from careing for others and always it is something new. Kinda keeps you on your toes. Careing to be best of my abilites, will make me one day, a special careing Nurse. You just dont see many nurses who pitch in and help out the CNAs or attendants or caregivers. God gave me a special and unique gift and I embras it.
