I am a caring, compassionate, reliable, empathetic, respectful, dependable, and professional individual. I became interested in being a caregiver back in the late 90s and worked as a caregiver part-time when not working my full time day jobs. I became more interested when i started to care for my own family members especially when my grandfather had to be place on hospice. I know how important it was to me and my family to have the best care for our loved ones. I enjoy hearing the seniors share their stories from their experiences, helping them work toward goals for their daily living, and just being able to help them with their daily needs. I am proud and humble of the gift that I was given to have a serving spirit and giving heart. I love people and enjoy helping where i can.

Mr. Garza was my grandfather who I cared for upto the time he required 24 hour care and his passing in 2012. I cared for him in my home where I would bath daily, assist with toiletries., grooming, dressing, feeding, daily exercises, walks, providing companionship, he loved to talk about my grandmother who passed in 1995. He enjoyed dancing to his favorite music. He had had several stokes and heart attacks , he was in the beining stages of Alzheimer's , wheelchair and walker use.

I would stay overnight from 10 pm - 6 am. I was responsible for preparing him for bed this included changing into night cloths, grooming, toletiries, and removing and cleaning hearing aids. I would assist Mr. Whitson to and from the bathroom at night using his walker. I would assist during day shifts when needed . The day shifts included taking him to dinning room for his meals, daily exercise, activities like puzzles, card games, services and just sitting and talking. Mr. Whitson was in a wheelchair . He had some memory loss and had had several stokes and heart attacks before his passing in 2012.
