About Amber

My Care-giving career started at an early age, helping my sister who was finally diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia after many long years of suffering and testing. She is the bravest person I know! I saw how it affected her spirit and I knew then that I wanted to help others who suffered as she has. I am a strong believer that love can conquer all and all need love (loves comes in many forms...respect, compassion, honesty the list goes on)! I too have suffered with birth defects that have affected my life greatly and have had a couple of major surgeries but I never let it get me down...It caused me to persevere setting my eyes on the bigger picture...it is a gift to serve others...In my humble opinion it is then and only then that true happiness is found! I strive to do my very best and go the extra mile to make sure I do, I am not perfect and never will be but I'll keep striving towards the mark! I treat clients as if they were family. I am a people person, warm, open and empathetic, I usually know when to speak and when to listen. I just love people ...what else can I say! Interesting story I'd love to share with you sometime...just ask...it's about a Rattlesnake bite I took in place of my client...it's a good one! I have worked with paralyzed patients, Hospice Patients and everything in between taking care of their every need with love, honor and respect. Responsibilities include all care for bedridden patients from incontinence to administering medications, cleaning all linens, given bed baths or assisting with showers/baths along with dressing of patients both bedridden and non bedridden, operating a Hoyer lift and various other medical equipment, caring for bed sores when necessary preparing meals as well as feeding, checking blood pressure and oxygen levels also run necessary errands and taken patients to necessary Dr. appointments able to speak on their behalf when needed. I am able to help the patient with rehabilitation exercises and encourage them to do so. Not only have I administer personal care I have cleaned the patient's homes as well as worked in their yards... I go the extra mile making sure I commit myself to do the very best job possible in order that my clients experience the compassion and care every human being deserves.
