I have not professionally takes care of someone it was mostly family members but what helps me be a great caregiver is putting my self in the other persons shoes. Knowing that it's not easy for them and that they really count on me to do something makes me wanna be a perfectionist. I like helping people seeing someone smile just because you simply helped them sit down or get up makes me really happy that is why being a caregiver attracted me. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I am about to graduate college and possibly get my bachelors degree. I am also proud of quitting my job at a restaurant to do what I really wanted to do all along which is take care of people and make someone smile.

It's been over 4 years now when my 92 year mom fell & broke her hip. I then moved in with her and took care of her with help from my sisters. Taking her to doctor appointments and then we found out she has dementia. Mom is doing wonderful now. She has 2 other health care with her & I am scheduled for Friday nights until Monday morning. I do all the necessary work to make her comfortable and happy. I take her on trips to see my brother in Colorado 2 times a year. She loves to go anywhere & shop for groceries. I enjoy my mom's company and realized that I want to help other seniors be happy. I am updating on my 95 year mom passed away peacefully in her own home. We were so blessed to have her so long.
