January 2019 - December 2022 I helped a friend with lymph node and tongue cancer. I drove her to many specialty doctor appointments and surgeries. I became a communication intermediary with doctors when she was no longer able to speak and helped with the proper use of her feeding tube and medications. During this process I helped with her keep a positive attitude. In addition I helped care for her home and elderly pets during this time.

2016 - I helped my mother recover from a mini stroke and cellulitis on her leg. Recovery included exercises to regain strength, plaster bandage changes on cellulitis wound, grocery errands, meal preparation, housework and yard work. She recovered and was well enough to live on her own and I continued to help her by ordering her groceries and anything else she needed on line and having them delivered.

2014 - I helped my mother recover from a stroke. Responsibilities included rehabilitative exercises and activities to regain use of hands, legs and speech. I was responsible for doctor visits, proper medication dispensing, regular exercise program prescribed, occupational therapy needs to modify bathrooms, grocery errands, meal preparation, housework and yard work. She recovered well enough to go back to living on her own.

2012 - I helped my mother recover from a fractured pelvis. Responsibilities included, visits to doctor appointments, proper dispensing of medications, physical therapy exercises on a regular basis, housekeeping, grocery shopping and meal prep. I also rebuilt her stairway to the garage that made them safer and less likely to fall. She recovered without having to use a cane.
