I worked in property management for over 15 years and then I moved to Texas with my husband and children. I stayed home for a year or so until we acclimated to our new environment with our blended family. After that time I found a job at Sunrise Senior Living. I worked there for a year and a half and without hesitation I can tell you that I have never felt so honored to do what I did during that time. The only reason I am still not working there is because our financial circumstances were changing and my brother-in-law needed help so I couldn't refuse. I still volunteer there because I built very strong, loving relationships with the residents and resident families. I am only doing this because I would be honored to care for someone again on a limited basis because of my current job situation, but I know that my heart is still caring for the elderly, especially those with memory loss.
