I have the skills and knowledge to be a caregiver. This is a profession I'm good at and passionate about. I've always enjoyed helping others. I love making a difference in the lives of others. I'm very good with people, we get along really well, also bilingual if needed. This is my calling. I have lots of experience being a CNA.
I am 31years old and have been a stay at home mom for 13 years. I have 3 children who are all in school now. I have also been the primary care giver to both my inlaws before their passing. They both had several diagnosis and along the way I educated myself and learned quite a bit. My father in law was diabetic, had heart problems and kidney failure. He was on dialysis for 6 years 3 times a week before we lost him. My mother in law who has only been gone for a short time suffered from Copd, arthritis, bradycardia, and dementia. The heart problem would have not came to light if I hadn't chose to document vitals throughout the day for personal records. After noticing the issue I brought it to the doctors attention a d she got a pacemaker.

What makes me an amazing care giver is that I put my whole heart into my work with helping others, ever since I was eleven years old I knew that my passion was in health care! From taking care of siblings and grandparents to working with elderly with special needs and Alzheimer's, and dementia. I always take care of my patients, and residents as though they are part of my family. These days its hard to know who to trust with your loved ones, and who would care for them as you would. I make sure that the clients I assist and their families, are able to put their mind at ease when it comes to the care they are receiving.

I decided at the age of 12 that I wanted to be a caretaker. My father was bedridden due to being a triple amputee, on dialysis and a diabetic. I was the only child still at home and my mother worked two jobs to make ends meet. For 2 years I was my responsibility to help him with his every move when I got out of school every day. He thought me that a person's pride keeps them from asking for help. I now go out of my way to show people it s perfectly normal to ask for help and very important to accept the help. I treat everyone as if they are my family because I want people to treat my family with the same respect.
