1. I became a care giver because I am a daughter and a grand daughter with children and elderly parents and grandparnets. I have cared for my 90+ grandmother until she passed in 2006. I have also cared for an elderly neighbor giving baths and fixing meals until his son finally moved him to California into a residential nursing environment. I also cared for my elder father for 5 years in my home bathing, feeding until he moved to an older siblings home in New Hampshire 2. I enjoyed the stories that they would tell about their younger days. It's like learning history all over again. 3. My biggest accomplishment in a work environment was to become a professional Provider Network representative with Blue Cross and Blue Shield without a college degree. I would say that my next personal acheivement that I am very proud of would be my family. I have two children that are on track for college. I am a mother of 2 with a full time position working 40 hours or more a week that is in need of additional money and work to support my family. I have a new six year plan to save for my childrens education and to pay off my mortgage several years before the due date.
