I am a Certified Nursing Assistant with over (5) five years of experience, assisting elderly patients, particularly those with Alzheimer's/Dementia and Parkinson's disease. Over the years, I have gained experience in working with the elderly and disabled. I have worked with pediatric patients as well. Care giving is a passion because I have this desire to care for those less able to take care of themselves. Working with the elderly has made me humble, gentle and more appreciative of life. I am experienced in assisting with performance of ADL's (activities of daily living), transferring and assisting in ambulation, using the toilet and bath, checking pulse, blood pressure and respiration rate. I provide assistance in eating, walking, reading prescriptions and assisting the patient. I assist handicapped patients in routine activities such as making doctor's appointments and accompanying patients to these appointments, keeping track of the patient's progress and reporting any changes, monitoring a patient's vitals such as heart rate, respiration, blood pressure and lifting patients in and out of bed, chairs or wheelchairs. I also prepare meals and keep things tidy.
