The roles were huge and responsibilities great from making a soldier who looked like Bettle Bailey look like a top knoch soldier to running into live fire in Grafenwoehr Germany. I am an an award winning Army Photographer.

As a Medical assistant I performed routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices and clinics of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, and optometrists running smoothly. My duties of a medical assistants varied from Clinic to Hospital, depending on office size, and specialty. I handled both administrative and clinical duties and reporting directly to my nurse, physician, or other health practitioner. I answered t he telephones, greet patients, update and file patient medical records, handle correspondence, schedule appointments, arrange for hospital admission and laboratory services, and handle billing and bookkeeping. I took medical histories and recorded vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during the examination. I collected and prepared laboratory specimens or perform basic laboratory tests on the premises, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments. I instructed patients about medication and special diets, prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician, authorize drug refills as directed, telephoned prescriptions to a pharmacy, draw blood, prepare patients for x-rays, take electrocardiograms, remove sutures, and change dressings.
