About Lindsey

I have been a CNA, Caregiver, and Direct Support Professional for 4 years . I was raised by my great grand parents and the love I have for them has inspired me to help others . I love being able to care for the old and young and the best thing to me at the end of the day is whenever my residents, patients, and or individuals tell me how thankful they are for me being respectful and meeting the needs that they ask of or need. During the 4 years of caring for others I have never been fired or penalized for anything. My job title here was a care giver . I worked at a couples home taking care of both the male and female . The male only needed help with dressing ,medication reminder, and meals. The female was nearly total care . I helped her Bathe, changed her briefs every two hours or sooner if needed, dental hygiene, medication reminder, transfers using a Hoyer lift , and set up her meals. Aside from caring for the daily needs I also cleaned , cooked breakfast , lunch, and dinner, washed clothes, made grocery lists for there daughter, made sure she was up and ready for transport every Monday , Wednesday, and Friday's for dialysis, and helped organize.

My duties here most days from 2pm-10:30pm as a Direct Support Professional 2 was to make sure the daily needs of boys with intellectual disabilities ages 17 and younger were met. The youngest boy was 13 and oldest was 17 before they moved onto a different home with higher level intellectual ability's. My daily duties were met by making sure my individuals were safe and out of harms way. I also made sure they ate there dinner that was supplied for them by the cafeteria, picked them up from the on-site school district mon-fri at 3:30pm, daily showers, documented every 2 hours on behaviors, took them to events on campus and off, and most of all helped them learn how to do things they didn't know before that most would take advantage of.
