I have been a CNA for almost two years now. I really enjoy taking care of people and making their day. To me, that is the most rewarding part. The thing I love the most is feeling that connection you make with a person. Getting to know the person you are caring for is important because it makes them feel more comfortable. In my time of being a CNA, I have learned that it takes a lot of patience sometimes as well as passion. I believe that is something I have become an expert in in working with many residents. Communication and attentiveness are two other things it takes to be a good care taker. Those are skills I was able to work on as well when working in a nursing home. Because there are many residents to care for, you need to make sure you are able to communicate effetely with residents as well as making sure you are careful in what you are doing. Providing the best care possible is the uptime goal. The achievement I am most proud of is completing my first travel nursing contract. When working on a contract, I learned that you need to be able to jump in as well as handle stress in a faster paced environment. I loved my travel assignment and would love to continue to do that in the future. As for now, I would love to do home health/ hospice because I believe the one-on-one interactions are very important and would be a more meaningful experience.
