As younger adults we never realize how beautiful it is to reach seniority. You have to put this field into perspective as well, as being a caregiver isn't only limited to taking care of the elderly. You'd be surprised who you might have to care for. Regardless you must treat every single last one of your clients (young or old, healthy or ill) as if they are a loved one. * In 2015 my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. At the time I was unable to care for her because I was also expecting twins. Though it bothers me until this day, I feel as though I am compensating that lost time by caring for others that need that proper care and compassion. The least at the very least I could do is offer that much. * Nothings is more satisfying than seeing my client smile. When the love is reciprocated, I know that I have done my job well. When I know a bond has been built, then I know that i have done everything with love and growth. Nothing is more enjoyable about this field than that. Hearing "Thank you, and I appreciate everything you're doing". *Two months into my first caregiving job I was given an appreciation gift that only I and five other caregivers and med techs received. Once I heard administration say that they recognize the hard work and dedication I put into my daily work I knew that this is where I belong. Honestly, I wouldn't have things any other way, and I couldn't see myself going into any other career. Nursing and caregiving is my passion, and I'd like to express it more with others.
