I absolutely love being a caregiver! I am a very caring, attentive and patient person, I naturally anticipate the needs of the client. I enjoy helping someone to have a more healthy and happy life by taking away the difficulties of ADL's and allowing them to have a more enjoyable day. I was in nursing school when a car accident prevented me from finishing and getting my license. I had to wanted to become a nurse since I was a teenager so the end of my registered nursing career was very hard to accept. Following my back surgery I became aware of the possibility of becoming a caregiver to people in need of assistance staying in their home and keeping control of their surroundings. Even while in an assisted living home or nursing home individuals will benefit from personalized care and attention. I am proud of being able to improve clients lives.

I did the grocery shopping per her likes dislikes and shopping list. We planned the menu for the week and I prepared the meals, cleaning the dishes and the kitchen immediately after eating . I picked up her medications and assisted in the filling of the weekly medication dispenser. I cleaned the house daily as needed, removing the recycling, trash and the compost to the appropriate bins, getting them picked to the street every week . Even before Covid-19 I sanitized the floors daily, making sure to remove trip hazards. I did the laundry and changed her bed sheets as needed (not just weekly). I drove her to her church services and functions and accompanied her when appropriate. I her drove to doctor appointments ensuring a safe and timely entry and exit from the facility. We went on walks and planned outings to events in the area, sadly our time together was not long enough to go to the events.
