Recognizes and takes action to meet identified patient/family needs for information;
Applies knowledge of appliances and mechanical devices;
Verifies patient identify by checking identification; preparing and placing identification band on patient. Ensures patient's arrival to hospital room or testing area by assigning patient beds; notifying nursing unit of patient's arrival; calling volunteer to transport the patient to the ass igned area
Assists the patient in accomplishing ADLs;
Recognizes and provides therapeutic intervention to alleviate patient self-destruction behaviors or changes in mental status;
Performs basic procedures for accomplishing the patient requirements for elimination needs;
Reports to the team leader/charge nurse significant observations concerning the patient’s bio-psychosocial conditions related to changes in vital signs, level of consciousness or mental status;
Maintains complete and accurate records on appropriate forms for all assigned patients.
Searches patient medical and administrative records for specific information to determine patient's eligibility for care and reports data to physician planning treatment
Monitors and coordinates both inpatient and outpatient appointments for areas of responsibility
Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and jcaho standards.
