I am a people friendly person. My personality is very pleasant. What attracted me to care giving is when I cared for my step father (Vietnam Vet) while he was ill from complications of Agent Orange from the war. What I care mostly about being a caregiver is the passion I have for clients. I am passionate about client/patient safety & well being. The personal achievement I am proud of is being a certified nurse aide and a phlebotomist and phlebotomy instructor. I have 15+years experience in homecare- patient care. I am a certified nurse assistant. I am experienced with complex care cases: tracheostomies, g-tubes, bed bound, non-verbal, clients. I am passionate about providing quality care, safety, and companionship to all clients. I have 70+ vocational nursing hours+ clinical experience from previous nursing school (non-graduate). I am BLS certified and also a BLS instructor. I also have patient care tech experience from working at the hospital (Methodist Hospital-Dallas) transplant unit. I am experienced in caring for post surgery patients/clients. CNA duties plus phlebotomy duties. I am trained in Hoyer lifts, feeding machines, toileting, light house, transportation, cooking/preparing meals. keeping patients/clients safe, uses CPT vests for client's breathing treatments, medication management, patient safety, range of motion ADL's, wheelchair/walkers, and operating hospital beds for pediatrics and adults.

I practice compassion as a moral rule. My early obsession and training in philosophy and ethics might be to blame. While earning a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, I volunteered at various retirement homes as well as Soup Kitchens and Meals on Wheels. I find deep joy in caring for little things such as my plants and my cat, even in spite of her, well, cattiness. Some of my art draws attention to the natural environment, which was initially one of the reasons I decided to pursue cinematic arts. I have always had compassion for vulnerable populations, and I know from an existential and emotional standpoint that growing older can be frightening at times, which is why I wish to bring peace and joy to someone's life. My training in yoga therapy has further taught me the importance of stillness and breath, as well as nutrition. Having traveled and lived in other countries, I have learned how to effectively communicate with people who are different from me. My background in nutrition has taught me how to approach conversations from a clinical standpoint, and my work as an artist has taught me how to use the imagination in order to create positive and meaningful narratives for ourselves, especially as a means to cope with the later stages of life. I love poetry, traveling, hiking, reading, art, and nature.
