I am a great caregiver because I am very caring and understanding, I have a passion for helping those who can not help themselves. I was initially attracted to being a caregiver because one of my closest friends is a disabled veteran with diabetes and I had the opportunity to step in and help him when he got sick. I was fortunate enough to be able to help him by getting him to his appointments and being there for him emotionally when he needed it. By helping him cook and clean and being his companion gave me a real sense of joy and showed me to my calling. What I enjoy most about is being able to help people who cannot help themselves, is the sense of accomplishment and joy that come from helping others, it is something I've never been able to find anywhere else. My greatest personal achievement is being able to help my patient after her surgery to gain the highest level of independence that she could gain.
