My name is Susan . I am 67 years. I was self employed for over 40 years in the cleaning field. About 35 years ago I found myself in the position of providing care for a dear dear lady I had been cleaning for. I didn't understand at first how or why I was now caregiving but soon figured out it was meant to be. I now believe we are all given special gifts and one of my most prized is compassion and a need to take care of others. After that sweet Mrs. Ione Surrett passed on, God kept putting these people in my life that i got to take care of. Each one was a different circumstance and situation and such a blessing. Almost all have since passed on now but I have so many memories. Almost all of my experience is independent. I have however worked through a couple of agencies. I have done so many different aspects of caregiving. Everyone of my people was a different level of care. I retired from my cleaning business last year. My last person I cared for was about a year and a half ago. The most difficult part of caregiving for me is when it's over. Takes me a little while to regroup. I am now hoping to find someone to care for. I so want to do this again. I always prefer to provide caregiving independently but that is negotiable.
