I was raised up by my parents and grandmother to be a caregiver. They took care of me, so I therefore did proudly take care of them. I assisted in the total in-home care of my Alzheimer's mother and my bed confined stroke victim father until their passing away. All the while I kept a full time job. I believe that at all cost elderly disabled relatives should not be sent to live in a rehab or nursing home if they have children, and I am one of nine. My husband now suffer from several chronic illnesses, and I retired two years early so that I could assist in his care daily. It is just the right thing to do.
