I truly love making people feel comfortable, and I know being labeled elderly and having family and friends just set you aside, can make someone feel very uncomfortable. I love sitting down and having great conversation about their past and what they've always wanted to achieve, even if it is for the 10th time. When I was in high school, I was in a program called PALS. Which is a mentoring program for troubled students, students who just don't have friends to talk to, and elderly persons who have been placed in nursing homes and forgot about. I've worked with elderly friends who have Alzheimer's, where they would jump and sing and have a great time just sitting down and reminiscing over so no s that they listened to as children. It makes me extremely happy being able to see them come alive and actually remember the words to some songs when they can hardly remember what they had for breakfast. I just truly love being around all the positive energy, because that's all they know!

I started off as a lead teacher for the age group of threes, then moved to fours and then to infants. In these classes I would prepare their food, prepare curriculum and fun assignments for them to do. And I would change their diapers throughout the day. My boss then decided that I had exceeded their expectations and offered me the front desk assistant job, where I book tours, file papers, prepare lunches for the entire daycare, and drive the vans for field trips.

My 90 year old , great aunt stayed with my family for 7 years, until she passed away. During this time, I became her personal home assistant where I would prepare her breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I would empty her bedside pot every day, 2 times a day, and help her bathe and get dressed. She did have quite a few medicines that I would set out for her in the mornings and nights and made sure she was taking the right amounts. She was very Mobil for her age so I did not have to lift her too much nor help her walk places because she had a walker.
