Let me start by stating, entrusting a stranger with the life of a loved one or yourself can be quite daunting. Being a caregiver is much more than technical qualifications; it requires heart, soul, laughter, patience, compassion, and human nature at its most vulnerable state. This is why I am passionate about what I do. I have a very colloquial personality which keeps me fluid with other personalities. I have cared for elders in my community and I enjoy helping them preserve their independence as long as possible and becoming enriched with their history. I am proud of achieving the knowledge of my self worth and the worth of others, along with growth through writing and photography. I have experience with Parkinson's patients as well, and that has been a crowning honor for myself. I am also well versed in Alzheimer's, Dementia and MS. I am a very seasoned caregiver (14 years experience) with an aptitude beyond standardized care. More so, I find myself living through the wisdom and history of each person's story and take that knowledge through my own journey. I strive to treat others as I would like to be treated or want my loved ones to be treated. Growing up with someone really special to me disabled fostered compassion, respect, & protection for others who may need a voice or a hand. I enjoy spending time with residents, talking with & learning from them. Knowing people's preferences and including them in their lives brings them such happiness and satisfaction, it makes me happy to know I made a difference in their lives. I was awarded employee of the month after 2 months of working in a long term facility for teamwork, respect for the residents, family & staff enough to hear & see them & paid attention to the little details that were important to them.
