After many years in the industrial field, I felt I needed to do my part to help others and what I was most passionate about was helping out the most helpless - children and elderly, alike. Eventually, I took on the role of (adult) caregiver, assisting two different aunts at two different times - both with dementia and Alzheimer's. I continued being employed in that role after each had passed away. Roughly ten to twelve years later, I cared for my own mother, who also suffered from Alzheimer,'s/dementia, up until the time of her passing as well. Although it has its challenges, caregiving can be personally rewarding and gratifying, knowing that you've made a difference in someone's life. (It did for me.) I know some day I might need assistance with my own daily activities, so I'm looking to sow now, that I might reap later.
