What makes me a good caregiver overall is my ability to make personal connections with my clients. This is something that all patients will need, they want to know that you truly care about their well-being. Why I wanted to be a caregiver is because I feel this is a job that I have seen while being Head Chef, that it could be taken advantage of. Being a caregiver is not only a pleasure, but it is heartwarming to know that I can be a part of someone's life and make a difference. Growing up I was a little girl who loved being by my grandma's size, whether she was sick or well.She was my pride and joy and I was hers'. I am capable of being a great care giver because I am attentive and not judgemental. I became a caregiver by accident, my mother lost her memory with little warning, (she was handing her own affairs well and within a few days she was incapable of managing her own affairs), and soon after lost her ability to walk, at the time I was unemployed and so became a caregiver. In spite of not having given this line of work any previous consideration. Becoming a caregiver for people outside my family acquainted me with how other people lived. My interest has always been people and spending a considerable amount of time in homes, allows me insights that other jobs don't give. Growing up I always enjoyed my grandmother recalling the life experiences that made her the type of person she was. I take pride in being a unique individual and not being just like everyone else.
