I became a caregiver because it makes me feel good to know that I have provided someone with quality care as well as allowing them to feel they are still independent enough to achieve certain goals in their daily activities on their on or with minimal assistance. I love being a caregiver because I enjoy knowing that I have made someone smile and that I have achieved my daily goal of assisting someone with their healthcare needs, making them feel just as important as they have always felt when it comes to life and love. My own personal achievement was taking care of my ailing father but more importantly allowing him to feel the same level of love that he had as a healthy person. Hearing the doctors say that he wouldn't have lives as long as he did if it wasn't for me was my crown and glory. I am 53 years old and I have been in the healthcare business since 1991 and I still love what I do.
