I am proud to be a caregiver because it is who I am on a personal and professional level. I value integrity, kindness, and professionalism. Others would describe me as patient, kind, and respectful. I have an extensive background in the healthcare industry. I started my career as a PCA, CNA, Homehealth Aide, and Certified Medication Aide (TMA). I then transitioned to Eye Care as a Certified Paraoptometric Technician and Certified Contact Lens Examiner, while also caregiving for a family member. A personal achievement I am proud of is looking back at how I managed to build my career through certifications, years of experience, and a passion. I fell in love with caregiving from the very beginning. My caregiver journey started on a personal level in 2016 for a family member, though I was caregiving before then when I had my certifications. To this day, I am a family caregiver and manage all of my duties with support and dedication. I am looking for 1-2 days per week (any days) and each work shift at 4-5 hours long.

I went through several different caregivers, including a family friend that didn't work out for the job. I ended up quitting my job and caring for her till she died 9 years later. At this point in my life I want to be able to help someone that needs special care because I know the negative impact it can take on the entire family when the care of a loved one is not being met. Hello! My name is April and I would love to be your caregiver. We have been a military family for 30 years and it is time to hang it up! I first became a caregiver when I was actually 18 years old. I became a Texas EMT. I was very rewarding but we got stationed elsewhere. Then when we made it back to Fort Hood I decided to go to CNA school. Again it was very rewarding but the military moved us. Two years after we moved my grandmother became sick. Instead of going to a care facility where there is no telling how she would be treated she ended up staying at home so that her family could take care of her. Even when she would have to be hospitalized for a short period of time she would tell the nurses that I was her care giver and that she wanted me to do the tasks instead of them. I want to be your caregiver because our mature family members need great care. Not just left alone in a bed to sit.
