As a registered nurse, my background experience in the hospitals were in the OB/GYN floor. I cared for postpartum, antepartum and gynecology patients. I cared for surgical patients, as well as, cancer patients. I stopped working in the hospital after having some health issues. I battled breast cancer in 2010. I had also been in an automobile accident which left me with chronic back issues. I have had 4, shoulder surgeries and a cervical fusion and lumbar fusion which had left me with chronic pain. I was not able to return to floor nursing. After doing different types of jobs, I started caring for Mrs. Hamilton. It was a very satisfying job. I truly felt like I was making a difference in her life. She was a joy to care for. It was hard work at times but satisfying. I'm looking for something similar. Although I am very strong, I would prefer not to be doing heavy lifting. I am open to many situations. I'm looking mostly for part- time work up to 25-30 a week. I prefer T-Th but negotiable on the days except for the weekend. I would love to do transportation as well but prefer using the client's vehicle if transporting the client. I do have an outstanding driving record. I care for people especially the elderly. It is a pleasure to make a difference in their lives.

Family hired me for companion care mostly but over time I assisted with many things. I did bathing, dressing, lymphedema massage and leg wrapping, pneumatic pumping of her legs, ran errands, transported to appointments in their vehicle, made light meals, light housekeeping and more. I started off at $25 hr but the family quickly realized how valuable I was and increased my wages yearly. At the time that my job ended, I was at $40 hr. My wages were paid with the patient's disability insurance. It was a great honor to care for her and she is greatly missed.
