I became a caregiver because I felt it would be something I would love. I took care of my mom for 6+months before she passed. I had to learn a lot during a very scary time. After she passed, I did fast food for most of my life. I have been a manager for 10+years for three of those companies. I then decided to change things up and work for a cleaning company. I worked at two different schools within 1 year and 3 months. I enjoyed working at the schools I worked at, but the company I worked for was not professional and also had communication problems. So I decided to become a caregiver and stop running away from my calling. And I have been happy ever since. I enjoy making a difference in the patients life as well as the family members life. I was once in their shoes and I understand that not only is their family members health, welfare, and comfort important to them, but also being able to live their lives for a few hours to either work or just get a break from the extra stress and demands of caring for a loved one.
