I became a caregiver when a very good friend of mine's mother started showing signs of forgetting. She had the beginning of alzheimer's and from that point on needed one on one care until she passed away 2 years later. I have always been in some kind of caregiving position. Either personally or professionally. I love people and children and I feel like you have to have a desire to be in this line of work to see that the persons needs are expressed and tended to. I have personal achievements all the time in that I have built great friendships and seen great obstacles overcome. In this field, it is so mu ch about all the family involved and the journey. It isn't just about the client. There are so many changes that happen emotions are raw. The achievements I have made are just about the journey with each client and their family. I am 47 I love life! I love people and children. I am just a God made caregiver. I have been all my life. I have been fortunate enough to sometimes make a living at it. Most of the time it is just what I do. I just relocated to help with my nephew and his family. (whom I helped raise) I am currently trying to get into a signing school to learn signing for the deaf.
