About Dawn

As a provider of in home care for several members of my family, I understand the complications and underlying issues related to those who live with and cater to those who are regulated by medication for multiple illnesses. I have witnessed events occur to clients on multiple levels, from self inflicted to prescription derived as well as diet related. I am not afraid of any challenge and find that most of the people I have dealt with regarding their health concerns enjoy my direct, realistic and honest approach. At one time, I helped maintain a non-ambulatory wing including 12 clients ranging from dementia/Alzheimer to amputees and parkinsons, while arrangeing the meal for everyone, the cook and I were brought face to face with a choking victim. Out of 5 personnel available, she and I were the only ones stable minded and able bodied enough to deliver the Heimlich maneuver. We both saved the life of the client an were mentioned in the local paper by the family. Although a wonderful action on it's own-the saving of one's life-we were there to provide a service to maintain the health of the clients, to which we took very seriously. In our position, there was zero tolerances for delay. The attraction has always presented itself through the years as a way of ensuring the people I care for are treated with dignity, respect, honesty and kindness. I have seen up close and personal situations when cliebts were abused, neglected and made to feel unimportant. Some were family members and some were not, however I have made it my goal to stop the inhumane treatment of the sick/elderly by my own involvement or training others by showing them the exemplary standards that need to be kept regarding a human life. Some just simple do not understand the impact a positive attitude can deliver to a client as well as to the staff and family members of the client.

In 2007, a family member was completely incapacitated due to illness. This was a financial strain and obligation upon our family, so I stepped up to provide the security and stability that she needed to remain an active member of society. I maintained her financial records, monthly living expenses and obligations as well as her medications, appointments, interactions, physical needs and diet all without the need to find her a room in a moderately acceptable rehabilitation center AKA nursing home. With my efforts and continual work, alongside of medical professionals, she has now progressed to living on her own once more without the need of constant care or having a fear of mistrusting someone in the feild. Today she has limitations but nothing holds her back-something I am very proud of.

Opened, closed and responded to mid shift contengencies as needed. Worked closely with active members of Loss Prevention regarding counterfeiting, cash scams, Government check cashing schemes as well as working directly with a third party company to ensure the safety protocols were adhered to regarding money transfers across state lines and national borders.
