I became a Certified Nursing Assistant, because when my mom was diagnosed with colon cancer I wanted to be the one to take care of her. The things I like about being a CNA is I like taking care of others, I am a very compassionate person and I have a good heart. I was nominated for the Mercy Award at a Louisiana hospital, the highest award at the hospital. I have been a CNA for 20 years. My experience has been in hosptials, nursing homes, rehab hospitals, private duty, and in-home care. There are two more reasons why I am glad I have my certification is because I also had the chance to take care of my d ad and grandma before they passed away. These three people were part of the reason for me to continue working in the medical field. ... more
