I am a retired public school teacher, retiring in 2019. Before that I was employed by the Garland Independent School District for 13 years as an Elementary Spanish teacher, and for 8 years as an Elementary ESL teacher. I subbed before my time with GISD as a long term sub in a bilingual 3rd grade for Dallas ISD, and as a bilingual 1st grade teacher for Richardson ISD. I hold a BS degree from Brigham Young University and MEd from the University of North Texas. I am a wife to John for 46 years, a mother to 4, and a grandmother to 11. I served a Spanish speaking mission in Argentina for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 21. I love family activities, including swimming, traveling and hiking. I love to read as well. I enjoy playing the organ for my local church congregation and other church and community volunteer opportunities.
