Hello, my name is Quinton Johnson. I'm 21 years of age and I live in Stafford, Va. I'm currently going to NOVA of Woodbridge for school. Some personality traits that I have that help me be a great caregiver is that I have patience, I'm very energetic, I love to tell a good joke or two. But overall I just really like putting smiles on people's faces, whether it's me just being there sitting with them or interacting with them. What attracted me to being a caregiver is that my grandfather is currently ill. He has COPD, so it's hard for him to breathe at time especially in the change of seasons. I don't live with my grandparents but I check on both so much, I probably should go live with them. For my grandfather I usually call or when I do go see him, I monitor his breathing, his hands to see if there shaking at a different pace then usual. Also I make sure he's in good spirits. I enjoy the smiles , the appreciation, the stories , and much more because you never really know a persons true state of mind. So the fact that I could possibly be the first smile they've had means a lot, because just one smile or laugh can change a whole person's day .
