I am a certified nurse aide who recently moved to Fontana, California from Virginia. I became a caregiver from a very young age. I started working as a child care provider for a neighbor when I was 12 years old, and from there, I realized my love of caring for others. I have a nurturing and empathetic nature, which helps me comfort and soothe those I care for. I am a patient and gentle person, and I noticed that my temperament and personality really helped me on the job. I became a nurse aide at an assisted living facility last year, and for the first time took care of the elderly. I developed a respect and awe for those older than us and find myself very lucky that they were comfortable enough with me to share stories of their past, their histories. I am a certified nurse assistant now, but in the future I hope to become a registered nurse, and eventually a nurse practitioner. I have done a year of my bachelor's degree in nursing so far, and hope to finish my schooling when my 3-year-old daughter begins school. I am proud of the work I have done as a nurse aide back in Virginia and am looking forward to going back to work here in California! It truly means a lot to me that I am providing comfort and help to those who can no longer do things for themselves. I appreciate that I am able to make a difference in their lives!
