About Sasha

Hello, my name is Sasha Dofflemeyer, and I am a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Public Health and Nutrition. I applied to this position to particularly care for the elderly, although I am willing to care for anyone, should we be a good fit. I've worked with Downs syndrome, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, and other illnesses, as well as with the elderly. You might ask what I think makes me a good care provider. Well, I have always found that hard to put into words, but maybe one way to describe it is that I have always felt like I have a lot to give. I am very caring about people, and cannot stand to see a person suffering, in pain, or without companionship. I love companionship, can talk to anyone about anything under the sun, and can do everything from toileting to cooking from-scratch, home-cooked meals. A student of nutrition, I particularly find it of interest to study what foods, if any, may particularly benefit an illness, and what nutrients an individual will need. I aim to provide top quality, holistic care.

Cared for a wide-variety of special needs students. Duties ranged from changing the diapers of the more dependent cerebral palsy students to tutoring the learning disabled in the Special Education Lab. Some cerebral palsy students were highly dependent and required feeding, diapering, and constant one-on-one attention. Many of the learning disabled students were highly functioning and simply needed tutoring on regular class subjects. I also worked with students diagnosed with Downs syndrome, autism, Asperger's syndrome, behavioral and learning disabilities, as well as a variety of mental illnesses. Each student received utilized educational tools corresponding to their level of learning. Assignments were also administered to student level of learning. I supervised more functional Downs syndrome, Autism, and Asperger's students with a program that provided on-the-job training. For this, I had to write reports about the job awareness education they received, as well as visit their work cites and monitor on-the-job performance.
