Decontaminate soiled instrumentation, cameras, scopes. Any items managed by SpecialtyCare under the facility's contract agreement. Prep and pack decontaminated items for sterilization. Follow the safety guidelines of the hospital and SpecialtyCare (wear PPE at all times, know location of MSDS). Decontaminate Video systems if and when assigned. Perform any other tasks assigned by manager. Reads, understands, and implements all policies and procedure guidelines. Notifies Account Manager when problems develop with equipment and/or personnel. Participate in team meetings. Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with administration and other key hospital personnel, as applicable. Responsible for implementing and reinforcing SpecialtyCare's core purpose, values and principles based on "Results and Relationships". Know all protocol pertaining to sterilization processes.

Determine, coordinate, and supervise daily staffing assignments and staffing activities Oversees and supports daily operations of all activities that relate to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes within all set professional standards and regulations. Ensures proper operational procedures are followed by all members of the sterile processing team Assisted in new employee interviewing, hiring, training system, scheduling, education, and ongoing evaluations, as well as ongoing continuing education for all current employees Performed staff evaluations, corrective actions, and organized workflow processes to improve operations along with mentoring / training staff members on new procedures within the department Assured that all daily routine duties and procedures were followed by all departmental technicians Assisted outside vendors with new product consignment instrument set placement, integration of sets, and education of these products into sterilization workflow

Recognizes the need for and assumes departmental responsibilities daily Ensures the completion of objectives through developing, training and evaluating staff; participates in hiring process A liaison to the OR specialty team and the Perioperative Team Managers in regards to special tray assembly needs Promotes best demonstrated practices with co-workers through open communication and continuous improvement of skills Assists in timely ordering of instrumentation within the SPD department and OR specialty staff Performs other related duties as required and directed

Identifies, disassembles, wrap, cleans and correctly reassembles instruments used for various surgical procedures to Ensure that each instrument is in good working order prior to placing in tray for OR use Adheres to safety, infection control, quality control and environmental control guidelines Ensures that aseptic techniques are used at all times in handling, preparing, and storing sterile, reusable and disposable supplies and laboratory glassware

Greeted and escorted patients to procedural rooms Measured and charted patient vital signs; interviewed patient to obtain medical/pharmaceutical history Assisted patient in getting ready for endoscopy/colonoscopy procedures; attached electrodes; hung and started IV bags Cleaned and set up rooms between patients
