As a young woman I began to caregive for others in my community - mentoring youth, providing meals to the hungry - and after a decade in the advertising industry I pursued a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling. I specialized in children and adolescents, but realized as I watched my own grandmother age that many of the issues children need attending to impact the elderly as they lose their cognitive and physical capabilities. It brings me great joy to witness a client find purpose, remember the smallest detail previously unable to recall such as a name or a prior time in life, or do such a simple task as dress for the day and leave their room.
