I have been taking care of my mom, along with my oldest daughter who stays at home to help. I clean bathroom, and vacuum. I wash dishes. Mom is not allowed to cook due to being on non stop oxygen. She also had fall and broke arm, wrist and leg so when she healed it has limited her movement. She uses walker and is unsteady so I walk with her. She takes sponge baths since she can not tolerate going without oxygen in shower, plus water hurts her. I make sure her daily medication is taken. I usually stay up most of night since she tends to fall out bed even with rails.

Cleaned living space for Mrs. Hess's mother and mother in law. Both ladies lived in the basement with each having a bedroom and bath and shared living room and kitchen. I cooked meals, both ate separately. Cleaned rooms and bathroom. Helped with their baths and grocery shopped for them. I also on occasions cooked dinners for Mrs. Hess and her dinner parties. I am a chef of 30 (+) years. So my dinners were greatly appreciated. I also kept records of medicines given to both my ladies.

My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.
