I worked with a man with Parkinson disease as well as a diabetic. He was 96 years old when I begin working with him. He was on hospice, with six months to live, he live to be 100 years old and six months. His children say that was due to my cooking and taking care of him, talking with him he just needed someone to show him love and attention.

I was born in Culver City, Ca. and raised by my grandparents there. I enjoyed gardening with my grandfather and knitting/crafting with my grandmother all the while listening to stories about life back in the islands and their journey to the US for opportunity of a better life. As I got older, I became my grandparents' caregiver. Caring for them is what interested me in this line of work. There is so much more to caregiving than meds reminder and assisting with ADL's or pillow fluffing. I have been doing caregiving for over 20yrs it started when my mom had her stroke she was paralyzed from one side so I had to give her physical therapy giver her medications tend to my siblings but I've always been a nurturing person ! My baby brother had got really sick at the point of dying cuz they couldn't figure out what was wrong he finally got a little better they sent him home and I took care of him cuz they put him a pick line, I've also helped my friend with her parents until the y passed I helped take care my moms friend father he had dementia so I had to give him his medication also bathe him my last client I had just passed away back in the middle of march I was so happy that I could bring him joy for his last days here on earth his family said I spoiled him it's that he reminded and me so much of my grandfather so I'm just glad I can help people!!!
