I have over 30 years as a CNA and I have worked as a Travel CNA, work in the memory care also in the Hospital but mostly in LTC facilities.I Love helping people be the best they can possibly be.I take pride in my job.Its not all about the wages I earn I enjoy and genuinely Love people.

I would say my expertise of me being a caregiver is that I'm patient , kind & show respect to the client and their families. Providing quality care is my goal. What attracted me to being a caregiver is that I had the pleasure of help taking care of my great grandmother and my great great grandmother up until god called them home. Hello my name is Amy Harrison. I am an RBT and currently reside in Salisbury, NC. I am currently working towards my PhD in Education. I just finished my nurse aide class at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College with an A average. I received my Masters of Education degree in 2021 with a specialization in early childhood education. Since 2014 I have held numerous roles working with children and the elderly. These roles have ranged from after school counselor/site director, lead teacher, behavior technician, online ESL teacher, Direct Support Professional, Home Health Aide, Temporary Nurse Aide, Care Pro, Care Manager, Care Associate and Nurse Aide. Hi there, Thank your for reading my profile! To start, God has put caregiving in my heart and I'm so happy he did, because I love it. Currently, I'm working for retired Doctors with Dementia in their home--I have a letter of recommendation too. Moreover, I'm certified in CPR and other certs; please feel free to ask. As of right now, my Doctors mostly need me on 3rd shift (11p-7a) so I'm available to care-give an extra 20 hrs a week. Ultimately, I'm also fluent in Spanish and some light German. I was the caregiver/caretaker for both of my parents. In the beginning, my mom had several, health issues. I thought at the time, I would get involve and take her to her doctors appointments and learn all I could to encourage and to better able to assist her, in living healthier. So we changed her diet and I helped her in preparing meals and other activities. Several years later, my mom was diagnosed with dementia. I didn't know then, the rolls of mother and daughter would change. For the next 18 years, I became her full-time caregiver. Although; it was extremely overwhelming at times, I knew no one would ever take care of mom like I would. Moreover; my personal achievement in taking care of her and preparing meals; she did not succumb to any of the complications of diabetes, which happens to many people with the disease. Although my dad didn't have as many health issues as my mom, he was older. He didn't have dementia and he lived to the age of 94. I'm dependable, patient and very compassionate. My caregiving experience began with the birth of my first child. Beyond the expected hurdles of parenthood, there were years of weekly specialist appointments, daily nebulizer treatments, physical therapy, and a great deal of research. I was grateful to encounter many doctors and nurses willing to explain their work and answer my questions. As family members and friends encountered health problems, I became counsel and occasional medic. When loved ones, mine and those of others, have had extended hospital stays and long recoveries, my support has often been requested. When extended stays have brought those affected to sit with mortality, I have sat and faced it with them.
