Aloha! a little about myself I, currently work as a Med tech in a Assisted living /Retirement facility. I have 5 years experience as a NAR. 4 of which have been working in a memory care unit. I enjoy the outdoors and staying active, but when I'm taking care of elderly I know from hands-on experience that this takes time, compassion, and patience which I hold. I enjoy simple conversations and listening to their wonderful stories (which are many!) they love to talk about. I became inspired to be CNR by helping family member grandparents when I was younger, to me, nothing is more rewarding than assisting a person in need to improve their quality of life.

As a ( Caregiver) I assist residents in the a.m and help them get ready for the day. Assistance can range from total care to stand by assist. Depending on each individuals needs. Also residents that are in need of escorts to and from meals are assisted when called upon. Vital are taken as needed. As a Med tech My duty is to assure that medications are passed to the resident in a timely manner. Vital are also done on a as needed basis or on Doctors orders. Faxing information on residents to their Doctor in regards to health issues and making sure all their needs are meet and taken care of. Input of medication into the system as new residents come in and or new orders are given or discontinued. When available, I also would help caregiver out with task as needed.

I've provided care for individuals with MS. I currently work part time for the State of Washington as a certified Care Giver & I have a couple of part time clients . I feel & have been told I'm a great caregiver because I think of others first, filling the needs of others before myself. I think the best way to be a affective caregiver is to really have consideration for the fact that, it could sometimes be Very humiliating having someone to provide care for you & to treat others as you want to be treated. I always talk to my clients and helping them to see that I do understand how it feels to be able to once have done things for yourself and now to have to rely on someone else. I also forgot to mention that I have a daughter who lives with me, she's now 30 and she's been on dialysis for about 10 years and so I have quite a bit of experience in the medical field. I was also certified as a CNA for about 20 years I am not currently certified but, have loads of experience working with the elderly, I've worked on my own, in nursing homes & hospitals. I've worked for the State of California in a Veterans home for about 10 years just prior to me coming to Seattle. I've been in Seattle for 14 years.
