About Anna

I am a mother of four children with my oldest having autism. I have worked in the caretaking industry since I was in high school. I am attracted to being a caregiver it's more of who I am than what I do. I have always taken care of people be it my younger brother or an elder adult. I currently work mostly with adults with disabilities. I really enjoy people and helping them navigate daily living skills. Teaching sewing at Tavon has been wonderful. I enjoy watching my group gain a since of accomplishment as they create something themselves. Be it hand sewing or on the machine.

I am a great care giver because I care these traits. Empathy: A great caregiver is empathetic and can understand and share the feelings of the person they are caring for. This allows them to provide compassionate and personalized care. Patience: Caregiving often requires patience, as individuals being cared for may have various needs, challenges, or limitations. Being patient allows you to provide support and assistance calmly and without becoming easily frustrated. Compassion: Demonstrating kindness, understanding, and a genuine concern for the well-being of others is essential in caregiving. Compassionate caregivers are able to connect on an emotional level, which can positively impact the care they provide. Adaptability: Each person you care for may have different needs, preferences, and circumstances. Being able to adapt to changing situations and adjusting your caregiving approach accordingly is crucial for providing effective care. Communication skills: Good communication is vital in caregiving. Being able to listen actively, express yourself clearly, and understand the needs and concerns of the person you are caring for promotes effective caregiving and fosters trust and cooperation. Knowledge and skills: Having a solid foundation of knowledge and skills related to caregiving, such as first aid, medication management, and specific care techniques, can contribute to being a great caregiver. Continually learning and staying up to date with relevant information and practices can enhance your caregiving abilities.

I became a care giver when I cared for my father during his hospice time, and later I also cared for my mother in law durning her final days. . I enjoy working with seniors because they share some really good stories with me of history. As a preteen I would spend a lot of my time visiting at convalescent hospitals . My personal anchievements is knowing that when I leave my shift I am satisfied with my clients knowing that my client was at peace and content. It is impotant to me that I leave my client with a sense of self worth of themselves. I want them to know that they are important, and that they have meaning in life. I understand that each client would have a different task and different ways of care.. I always do my best to make sure that their needs are met.. I am a compassionate person. and treat my clients with the upmost respect. I believe that they deserve to be treated with dignity. And I will do what I have to, so that they know they are in good hands with me. I have a car with full coverage insurance. That goes with a perfect driving record. I do light house keeping and will run errands for them. Reading to my clients is a plus for me. It opens doors for a open conversation for us. I also have my bachelors degree in social services. In my last employment I worked for 8 years as a over night awake staff support with mentally challenged adults. I will answer any questions that you may have during an interview. Thank you for your time.
