I'm always smiling and cracking jokes. I come to my job put together, and open my arms to any kind of challenge. With some residents, we dance to the bathroom. With others, we have a light switch that is broken that I need them to come help me with. Stories and communication are my best friend. I love working with dementia patients, but I am also very wonderful with more independent elderly as well. I am physically strong, and can lift over 50lbs. I can cook high protein health conscious meals and I will ALWAYS push hydration. I can handle some combative behavior, please be honest with me. I firmly believe that I take care of my clients just as I would myself such as including proper body hygiene care and oral care. I am able to help with feeding. I am CPR/First Aid trained and certified. I am fire safety certified. I am mental health, and dementia certified. I have an operating legally owned and insured vehicle. I would prefer to stay local, but would be willing to negotiate pay if services are needed from a further distance. When I first became a caregiver I never thought I would ever become one. I learned so much, so quickly, and so eagerly. By the time I was crosstrained with assisted independent elderly, and dementia/mental health and behavior challenged elderly, it began to feel effortless and empowering. I am so passionate for, and about the people I care for. Dementia isn't always patient, and dementia isn't always kind. It's challenging work but I will show up on time, and your loved one is my number one priority with a smile. I consider myself a guest in every clients home, therefore I reciprocate that belief into the quality of care and my positive behavior. I am a great listener, and I will validate your loved one in whatever they believe as long as it doesn't involve harming themselves, or others.

I have been around the elderly my whole life, my mother is a caregiver and growing up I loved to go to work with her. The environment is something I find natural and comfortable. I love the smiles and the thought of never knowing what's going to happen, everyday is a new day. I'm a great cleaner, orginized and patient. Working with the elderly I have found they need time to do everyday things. Achievements are something I find everyone has everyday weather it's cleaning the house in one day to following my dreams and climbing a mountain. My most dear and earned accomplishments was receiving my scholarships for my college education, while finishing my last year of high school (on honors) as well as received my HCA and Nurse Delegation. I have worked with the elderly for about 4.5 years and I enjoyed everyday.
