About Janelinda

I started working as a caregiver when I finished high school in 2006. I have worked in adult family homes, nursing homes, in home care and now I currently work in the hospital. I am a patient, compassionate trustworthy. In addition, I give attentiveness to my clients and am dependable. My reason for wanting to work as a caregiver is mostly towards helping the community. As I have been working with various people, the joy happiness and gratitude one gets from the clients is what keeps me going. One of the achievements am proud of is that as i worked as a caregiver, I went to school and got a bachelors in kinesiology which is the study of body mechanics. With this education, I am able to help my clients with their body mechanics and also myself in safety while taking care of them.

What a great caregiver means to me is to be able to show empathy and compassion toward the clients and families that I work with. By taking the time to fully understand my patient's needs and giving them the patience to work through their rehabilitation at their own pace, I show them that I care about them and that I want to do what I can to help them. I become a caregiver because I enjoy working with people. I love helping the individuals and their families to create the tailored care that is needed. I also enjoy working with the elderly in overcoming the difficulties associated with their health issues and helping them maintain their highest level of Activities Daily Living. The most satisfying part about being a caregiver is knowing that my clients and I foster a bond that makes me feel like a part of their family. In addition, the trust that my client's family put in me to ensure that their love ones are safe and taken care of is quite rewarding. I know how it helps the family feel at ease. One of my personally favorite achievements I'm proud of was helping one of my post-surgery clients at home with PT and OT; and enabling her to walk with a cane again instead of being restricted to a wheelchair.

Care requires time and patience, being able to help someone who lives around for years just makes my heart happy. I became a caregiver because I used to help care for my late grandma who was diagnosed with cancer. I always wanted to do everything I could do to help her feel better in her time of discomfort. And so I fell in love with caring for the elderly. I love just being able to make a difference in there life and attending to there needs however how much I can help to make their day better. I've got personally achieve the art of being patient which is very important in caregiver. Plus good history lessons lol.
