I am currently enrolled in CNA coursework to polish up ten years of family caregiving. My entire adult life has been dedicated to taking care of my grandparents and parents, simultaneously at times. Regrettably, having lost all but my Father in recent years, I'm now a 30 year old woman with skills in one area: Caregiving. It's been my job for so long, I can't imagine doing anything else. At the moment, I can't transport you anywhere, but I can be there for you nonetheless. I'm here to offer you a human being to talk to, to be with, and to help you through your difficulties. You and/or your loved ones are not children and nor should you be treated like one. From amputation to blindness, I have helped when needed and stood back when not. I've driven through the night to aid in everything from an emergency to simply needing someone to talk to. I have a BA and was raised by a history-buff and a hippie, so give me your strangest topic, and we'll talk all day about. In fact, if you think you might like to talk to me before making any decision, I'd be happy to. If you're going to hire someone to put your trust in, requesting an interview isn't such a bad idea. Pet care, gardening and sewing are also skills I can bring to the table. I'm a maverick of human-skills. And I'll bring the tea.

What a great caregiver means to me is to be able to show empathy and compassion toward the clients and families that I work with. By taking the time to fully understand my patient's needs and giving them the patience to work through their rehabilitation at their own pace, I show them that I care about them and that I want to do what I can to help them. I become a caregiver because I enjoy working with people. I love helping the individuals and their families to create the tailored care that is needed. I also enjoy working with the elderly in overcoming the difficulties associated with their health issues and helping them maintain their highest level of Activities Daily Living. The most satisfying part about being a caregiver is knowing that my clients and I foster a bond that makes me feel like a part of their family. In addition, the trust that my client's family put in me to ensure that their love ones are safe and taken care of is quite rewarding. I know how it helps the family feel at ease. One of my personally favorite achievements I'm proud of was helping one of my post-surgery clients at home with PT and OT; and enabling her to walk with a cane again instead of being restricted to a wheelchair.
