I became a caregiver because of the huge differences it makes in so many lives. This includes the client, their family and friends, plus the caregiver(s). By providing optimal care and expanding the independence of the client, we are able to make life better for all involved. One of my favorite things about caregiving is getting to know the person on a humanistic level. By that you learn about their history, character, wants, desires and what is needed to ensure they can function and be the best that they can. I am proud of my many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant-in several healthcare units and facilities-working with heavier care clients. I worked in several transportation organizations for mobility-challenged and/or individuals in wheelchairs. I have also received vast training in CPR, First Aid and other treatments through private entities and my military affiliation. My father was afflicted with muscular disease which took a major toll physically, which led to ripple effects mentally. He steadfastly believed that his hydrotherapy was essential to endure his bodies degradation, reducing short-term effects. I was proud to assist in many years to help in extending his life and the quality that he maintained. Through connections with these vulnerable populations, my intent has been to offer opportunities not otherwise available-including chances to vacation. Based on my size and physical attributes, I help overcome most obstacles.
