About Rory

I am a licensed CNA with over 14 year's experience as both an hourly and an in-home 24 hour caregiver. I have many year's experience in other related healthcare fields as well and am also a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have Nurse Delegation certification, BLS/HCP CPR and First Aid cards, as well as Mental Health certification. The last 2 1/2 years I've worked with predominantly one client providing care for all the activities of daily living and companionship as well as acting as a healthcare advocate. I've also spent 4 years with an Alzheimer's client providing in home care including physical therapy assistance and hospice. I have provided care for clients with multiple health concerns including hypertension, stenosis, heart disease, depression, paralysis, digestive disorders, and cancer. I also worked during my training in a nursing home. As a side note, I have learned tremendously for 5 years the many aspects of case management acting as a POA and Healthcare Representative/Advocate/Case Manager for a family member and other clients so am able to provide those kind of services as well if needed. I previously worked as a Veterinary Technician for 16 years and in a prior position provided at home medical care for my client's pet as well. I can also provide Clerical Support as in prior positions I reviewed/maintained medical and other records, facility admission/release forms and contracts, mental health assessments, legal documents, and auto and homeowner's insurance policies. Also handled all phone/mail communications and appointments. Thank you so much for your time in reviewing my profile and I look forward to seeing how I might help with your caregiving needs. R. Siegel, CNA, LVT Please note that my hourly rate varies depending on the position. Normally I have a 4 hour minimum for short shifts, but can sometimes agree to 3 hours depending on location. Thank you!

The world exists upon the kindness showed by others, and that this kindness keeps alive the souls of those needing care. What I like about being a caregiver is that, for clients who cannot do many of the things they used to do, like running around and getting things done to take care of their families--life now begins anew based purely upon things that matter now today-- the worth, the thoughts, and the amount of attention that is paid toward them. This is a time of really focusing only on the present moment, and it takes a certain degree of concentration even to do that, sometimes. They are now the person who need this the most. My greatest personal achievements are when clients, who experience a decrease in function, and sometimes can hardly move or talk, are the most appreciative for my attentiveness to understand them. The story of the Good Samaritan identifies a good neighbor as one who shows kindness, and the rewards write upon the heart and soul. Caregivers are to the aging population a group who recognize that aches and pains are not going to go away. What some call a disadvantage, or disability serve, in many ways, to be an advantage because we shift our focus and attention toward what is really important in life-- people and how they are treated. I am only one of many like-minded caregivers who believe that a moment of clarity with loved ones--paying attention to the good in the moment--is the same as finding diamonds in your own backyard. Thanks for hiring through the Carelinx network!
